Is parking available at the Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning or nearby?

Parking is available at the Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning. There are three stories of below grade parking in the building. The nearest Green P parking lot is located at Elizabeth St. and Dundas St. W. See Green P Parking information for details and rates. Please note that parking is not included in the conference registration fee and is an additional cost.

How to do I get to the conference using public transit?

Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning is located at 686 Bay St. The closest TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) subway stations to the Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning are: Dundas Station (on line 1, Yonge Street), St. Patrick Station (on line 1, University Avenue) and College Station (on line 1, Yonge Street). If you are travelling on GO Transit from a nearby city, the nearest GO train station is Union Station (TTC – Line 1). From Union Station you may travel via the subway to the TTC stations mentioned above.

What is the dress code for the conference?

Business casual is the expected attire for the conference. We recommend bringing a sweater or jacket as the function rooms are air-conditioned.

Will the conference provide refreshments and food?

Breakfast, lunch and light refreshments during breaks will be available on Thursday and Friday. Breakfast will be provided on Saturday. Dinner is on your own. The Gala Dinner on Thursday, September 12 is SOLD OUT. There are several restaurants and dining options nearby. What time should I arrive?

Registration opens at 1:30 PM on Wednesday and 7:45 AM on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

I am an exhibitor – when may I arrive to set up?

Exhibitors will be provided with detailed information in a separate communication.

May I wait to register onsite?

While you may wait to register onsite, we encourage you to pre-register online. Depending on when you arrive, you may need to wait to register and pay onsite. The accepted form of payment is via credit card. Trainees and students are required to provide proof-of-status.

When does pre-registration via the conference website close?

Online pre-registration will be available until the last day of the conference on September 14, 2019 (or until the conference is sold out).

Do I need to pre-register for the sessions?

Preselection of sessions is not required. Since all sessions are open to all conference attendees, we recommend arriving early for programming anticipated to be popular.

When will I receive my accreditation letter for the conference?

Participants will be e-mailed specific information on how to obtain their letter of accreditation/attendance online, two-to-three weeks after the conference.

What is the cancellation policy for the conference?

Requests for refunds must be made in writing to facmed.registration@utoronto.ca – only partial refunds will be issued for cancellation requests received up to and including June 3, 2019. CPD retains a processing fee of $100.00 plus 13% HST on all cancellations. Registrations are not transferable.
